Deborah Westphal, CPM®, ARM®, is the Executive and School Director for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) for the GA Chapter and the Part Time IAE for the FL West Coast Chapter. Westphal brings to IREM expansive knowledge and background of the real estate industry from personal experience of more than thirty years.
Deborah has been a member of IREM since 1996.
Having served on the Board of Directors with the Institute of Real Estate Management Ga Chapter as the Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Communications, Vice President of Membership, and Vice President of Education. Before becoming President-Elect, Westphal chose to work full-time with IREM GA.
She continues serving on local chapter committees and has served on committees at the national level with the IREM Foundation, Education Committee, Income and Expense Committee, IAE Council twice, and the FACS Real Estate Property Management program at UGA.
She has received numerous honors: from IREM, including multiple Presidential Awards, Certified Property Manager® (CPM®) of the Year, and the Accredited Resident Manager (ARM®) of the Year.
From a Leasing agent to a Vice President in real estate property management, Westphal's philosophy remained the same: Provide Exceptional Service, Know the clients’ goals, and create environments for everyone to thrive.
Working with the Lane Company for fourteen years, she worked several years with the Real Estate Owned Portfolio partnering directly with George Lane and Gail Armstrong. Her portfolio was awarded the Annual Highest Effective Rent Growth when the company had over 30K units. The Westphal division maintained the highest KPI's in all 4 categories for 14 consecutive months companywide until her departure. Her teams had the lowest turnover and the highest performance evaluations.
Westphal has a refreshing personality that combines the serious nature of her profession with the joy of helping others, while favorably impacting the bottom line. Deborah is a professional trainer and an operational efficiency analyst.
